Question:
We have a Class A Motorhome with a Roadmaster Sterling hitch 6000 pound. We recently totaled out our 2004 Ford Escape toad and in the process shredded the tow bar base plate etc. Fortunately, we were not hurt. We have replaced the Escape with a Manual Transmission 2016 Subaru Forester. Im researching base plates etc.for the Subaru to attach to our Roadmaster Sterling tow bar set up. It appears that I need an EZ-4 baseplate kit #RM-52923-4, a Roadmaster Quick disconnect tow bar plate assembly #910021-00, and EZ Hang safety cable Anchors. Is this correct? My second question is about wiring. We currently have a four wire electrical cable running through the sterling tow bar terminated with a round female plug. What type of a wiring harness setup would you suggest for the Suburu to match what I have coming from the motorhome? Finally we have a Brake Buddy. It plugs into the cigarette lighter for 12 V power. However, there was also an electrical wire connected to the top of it which I believe ran to a switch which was located under the front bumper and hooked to a small cable which was connected on the other end to the Motorhome. I assume this switch would have been pulled if there had been a total disconnect between the car and motorhome. In the event of that happening, my understanding is that the brake buddy would have been applied. Thank you for your time.

If your Forester has the non-turbo engine, the # RM-52923-4 base plate would work great. If you have the turbo engine, you'd need to use the Blue Ox # BX3619 and a # BX88151 adapter.
If you used the Roadmaster base plate, and the original quick disconnect # 910021-00 was damaged in the accident, you'll want to replace it. The EZ Hook Safety Cable Anchor # RM-910653 would be a good addition to your quick disconnect.
For wiring, I'd recommend the Roadmaster diode kit, part # RM-15267.
