Will Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock Fit 2007 Toyota Tacoma Without Existing Tailgate Lock

Question:

I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma Dual Cab with a short bed. I want to install a bed cover and a lock for the tailgate. The tailgate does not currently have a locking system and I wanted to ensure that I would be able to use the PAL8521 to automatically lock the tailgate. Also will I need any other parts to lock the tailgate? Thank you in advance for your time and attention.

The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL8521 that you referenced will work well to lock the tailgate of your 2007 Toyota Tacoma, since the lock is operated by the key fob, not by a physical key. We installed this tailgate lock on a similar Tacoma that did not have any kind of tailgate lock. I have attached that installation video for you.
