Troubleshooting Hopkins Trailer Wiring Harness for 2015 Jeep Wrangler that Doesn't Have Power
Updated 03/22/2016 | Published 03/20/2016 >
Question:
I installed your product and have worked on it for hours with no results. There is no power to the rear lights. I have checked the wiring from the tow vehicle, ground, continuity, still no lights. What do you suggest ? Could the diode be backwards ? I am at a loss. I have done quite a bit of wiring so I am sure it is connected correctly with the exception of the rear plug orientation but switching the plugs doesnt change anything. The vehicle is a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited.

It is possible there is an internal problem on the # HM56200. With it plugged in use a circuit tester to probe the wires of the harness that go into the converter box and then test to see if the voltage makes it out to the other side of the box.
If there is voltage going into the box but not coming out the problem is internal of the box and it would need to be replaced/warrantied. If there isn't voltage going into the box the problem would be connectors not making a decent connection.
