Tie-Plate Bracket Angle and Shock Angle Recommendation for Install of Lippert Trailer Shock Kit

Question:

Do you know what the approximate angle of the bend is on the tie plate in this kit? Im trying to measure my trailer to see if it will fit, but as the shock is supposed to be mounted at an angle, it is difficult to do without knowing what angle is on the tie plate. Even a rough guess would be better than nothing. Also, the installation instructions has a note stating dry fit the shock to be sure it does not exceed a 45 degree angle or it will not function.inch So the shock is supposed to be mounted less than 45 degrees, but from what? Is this 45 degree angle from vertical or from horizontal? I would assume it needs to be more vertical than horizontal, but I dont want to make assumptions on something like this.

The angle of the ends of the tie-plates that come with the Shock Kit part # LC281281 are pretty close to 30 degrees from horizontal.

The 45 degree angle that is mentioned for the shock would be from horizontal. You would want it to be more than 45 degrees from horizontal for it to function properly. You are correct you would want it to be more vertical than horizontal.
