Question:
I have a Casita travel trailer, I want to add a hitch cargo tray. I need offset rise for max ground clearance, it must be no longer than 50inch width can vary. I prefer aluminum, but steel is ok. Thanks

The hitch mounted cargo carrier I recommend for use behind your Casita travel trailer is the Curt 20 x 48 Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4 Inch and 2 Inch Hitches # C18110. This cargo carrier offers a shank rise of 3-3/4 inches to help you maintain ground clearance behind the trailer.
I recommend using a fixed cargo carrier, like the # C18110, over a tilting carrier at the back of your trailer. The solid shank of a fixed carrier is much better for use on a travel trailer due to the rougher ride at the rear of the trailer. The Curt # C18110 measures within the 50 inch length you'd like, and offers a width of nearly 20 inches. With a mesh floor, this cargo carrier will allow dirt and debris from the road to fall through the floor of the carrier and back to the road. I have attached a review video of this carrier for you.
A great option to help secure and protect your gear is the etrailer Cargo Bag # e98990. This cargo bag measures 40 inches x 20 inches and can carry 9 cubic feet. The bag is constructed from premium quality rainproof material. I have also attached a review video of the # e98990 cargo bag.
