Selecting a Replacement Spare Tire for Karavan Utility Trailer
Updated 03/03/2016 | Published 03/02/2016 >
Question:
I have a Karavan utility trailer that was purchased from Home Depot and the tires on it are ST195/75D14C on 5 lug on 4.5 center. I cannot find a spare tire/rim combo that size anywhere. Do you have that combo or can I go up to a ST205/75D14C combo?

Ideally you want your trailer's spare tire to closely match the tires you are running if at all possible. But since we do not offer any ST195/75D14C tires, or tires in this size mounted on a wheel, your best bet for a spare is to use a 205mm width tire since it is only about 0.39-inches wider. You'll just need to check the fender/wheel well clearance around the tires to ensure there's enough room for that size. Overall diameter of a mounted and inflated 205/75-14 tire is 26.3-inches.
Kenda # AM3S455 is a tire-with-wheel that meets your requirements and that includes a white spoke 5-on-4-1/2 bolt pattern 14-inch wheel with a Load Range C rated (1760-lbs at 50-psi pressure) bias ply tire.
