If your plan is to get into the car hauling business I would recommend you go with a long bed truck that won't require an auto slider hitch. Slider hitches are heavier than fixed hitches and have more moving parts so if you don't have to use one you would be better.
That being said, the Demco 21k Hijacker part # DM8550035 would be a great option if you do use your 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 with a short bed truck. Since it will automatically slide back around turns you wouldn't ever have to worry cab interference or remembering to activate the slider.
For a custom rail kit designed to fit your truck that would minimize drilling and install time you would want the part # DM8552016-71 to install the hitch into the bed of your truck.
