Since the trailer works fine with another vehicle the issue must be on your 2013 Nissan Frontier. The running light circuit not working is a common occurrence on Nissan vehicles. Ninety-nine percent of the time it is a missing relay, that needs to be installed. You would need one of the blue relays from the Curt Relay Kit # C57000. This relay installs in the in-cab fuse panel. You can also check the fuse for the tow package running light circuit but if that is good then it is probably the missing relay.
