Can a Trailer with 225-75-16 Tires go to a 235-80-16 Tire Size
Published 02/18/2016 >
Question:
I NOW HAVE 225-75-16 TIRES ON MY 2000 CARRIAGE 5TH WHEEL WITH 2 SLIDES 32FT. CAN I USE 235-80-16 IN THEIR PLACE WITHOUT ANY CLEARANCE PROBLEM?

Expert Reply:
The larger tire size you want to go with will increase your overall tire diameter by 1-1/2 inches. That means that you would have 3/4 of an inch less trailer fender clearance. You would need to check out the trailer to determine if you have the clearance for it.
Most likely you would be fine and could install part # TTWTRTM2358016E in place of what you currently have. However, you would want to be sure you have 3 inches of fender clearance just to be safe.
