You can use a cargo carrier in a hitch on your 2015 Nissan Versa. However, all of the trailer hitches for the vehicle, such as # C11256, are Class I hitches which have a low tongue weight capacity (200 pounds) and not very many options for carriers.

Wheelchair lifts are often heavy and add to that the weight of the wheelchair itself and it can easily exceed the tongue weight capacity of the hitch if you can find one that is compatible with a Class I hitch.

It is possible though to use the hitch with a carrier such as # C18110 and provide your own ramp provided that the wheelchair does not weigh more than 170 pounds and that it will fit the 47-11/16" long x 19-1/2" wide dimensions of the carrier.

The other option is to put the wheelchair on a small trailer. This will be safer than carrying it on a hitch mounted carrier and it will put less strain on the vehicle. In addition to the hitch, you would need a ball mount, # 3592, and a ball to match what the coupler on the trailer requires. For a 1-7/8 ball use # 19256 and for a 2-inch ball use # 19258.

You would also need a trailer wiring harness, # C56400, to operate the trailer lights. There are trailers that are made for this specific purpose that you would be able to find online.
