Rear Helper Springs for a 2015 Ram 3500 Mega Cab

Updated 02/03/2016 | Published 02/02/2016

Question:

Hi, I have a Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab SRW. I have several questions. First, does the SumoSpring replace and attach where the original bump stop is mounted? Second, when installed does the SumoSpring make contact with the axel at all times with or without extra weight in the bed of the truck? Third, just making sure but does the SumoSpring when order does come in a set of two springs? Fourth, is there an attachment that will mount on the axel and attach to the SumoSpring making it one piece that allows the spring to stretch and compress when the vehicle is off road on rough terrain?

Yes, the SumoSprings # SSR-302-54 will replace the factory bump stops on your 2015 Ram 3500. They will bolt in place of them.

Once installed the springs may make contact with the axle when unloaded but will definitely engage when weight is put in the bed or if the suspension compressive enough such as when hitting a bump. The SumoSprings are about 3 inches taller than the factory bump stops.

If you were to measure the space between the bump stop and where it would touch the axle (with nothing in the truck bed and parked on level ground) you can determine if that extra 3 inches would result in constant contact or not.

This is a set of springs for the rear axle of the truck; one for the left and one for the right. The springs are not designed to be attached on both ends so there isn't a way to make that work with this type of spring. For that I recommend a Firestone air bag kit such as # F2615 for 4x4 models or # F2616 for 2-wheel drive models.

You can also add on-board compressor kits using # F2219.
