Question:

So I just bought the adapter and brake controller for my 2000 dodge ram. It plugged right in to the blue connector on the driver side and into the back of the brake controller Im getting power to the brake controller but the trailer is still not braking

Expert Reply:

The brake controller output wire from the front of your 2000 Dodge Ram probably terminates at the connector that is located under the driver's side wheel well. In order to finalize the installation, you must splice into this wire and continue it back to the plug.

Use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires so you can splice into the right one. Then use some wire # 10-1-1 for 10 gauge or # 12-1-1 for 12 gauge, each sold by the foot, to continue the connection to the back of the 7-Way and attach it to 7 o'clock position.
