Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Only Shows Connection When Test Light is Connected

Question:
Hi I have a tekonsha voyger controller on my 4x4.I have power to the unit and when I apply the break pedal too so this is all good. The earth is all good as well . The led light will only come on when I put my test light from the neg Batt terminal to the blue wire ????? The override slider control makes the normal clicking noise when pressed. Not sure what my problem is ?? Can you help Thanks

Try hooking up a trailer to your 7-way. I would be surprised if the controller didn't work. You see, the controller has to detect a load on the output circuit (the brake magnets), in order for the controller to sense a trailer and start activating the brakes. Since your controller shows a connection when a test light is applied that shows that it's working.
