Question:

This new vehicle has continuous flush roof rails, front to back, plus a sun roof. Looking for a roof rack that will accommodate two road bicycles, while allowing operation of the sun roof. Black color preferred. Would also like a rack that can be used to transport a canoe when the bicycle-carrying accessories are removed.

The roof rack I recommend for your 2015 BMW 328i Wagon is the Thule WingBar Roof Rack # TH711220 with the Feet # TH710601, and Fit Kit # TH186007. This rack has an aerodynamic shape that works to minimize wind noise and drag. The black color of the AeroBlade Edge will look great with your 328i. This rack will work great to transport your bikes or your canoe.

While the roof rack is installed it is not recommended to open the sunroof if the sunroof adds any height to the roof when retracted. Most aftermarket roof racks to do not recommend opening the sunroof while the rack is installed.

To carry your bikes on your roof rack, I recommend the Thule UpRide Wheel-Mount Bike Carrier # TH599000. This carrier will not contact your bike's frame and will not require the front wheel to be removed. I have attached a review video of this bike carrier for you. The carrier I recommend for your canoe is the Thule Portage Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs # TH819. These gunwale brackets will protect your canoe as well as provide extra grip for the canoe while on the roof rack. This carrier comes with tie-down straps as well as ratcheting bow and stern tie-downs to anchor the canoe to your 328i.
