Question:

Hi, I own a 2021 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 and am interested in a Thule Roof Rack. I recently watched your video on YouTube - Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars Installation - 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class which BTW was great. I was wondering if those same items 711220, 710601, 186020 would work on my 2021. My biggest concern is that I also have the panoramic sunroof on the car and I want to be sure that I can still open it with the roof rack installed. It looked fine for the 2019 in the video just want to make sure its ok with a 2021.

As long as your 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 with the Panoramic Sunroof is the SUV version and has the flush side rails running front to back as seen in the video you saw, you will be able to use the same Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack System.

The Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack System uses the 47" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711220, Evo Flush Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710601, and Fit Kit # TH186020. Adding the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450400 will provide additional security by locking the Evo Feet to you flush rails to deter theft.

This system will work with the panoramic sunroof on your GLC 300, and as long as you go slow and are careful when opening it like in the video you will not have an issue. Thule does not recommend opening the sunroof with anything installed on the crossbars to avoid any possible damage, and typically most customers do not open the sunroof with the roof rack installed as it will cause a loud wind noise with the sunroof open.

If you GLC 300 is the coupe model with flush mounted rails you will need the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack system that uses the same 47" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711220, but uses Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH460R, and Fit Kit # THKIT3159.
