I only want to use this hitch to hold a bike rack...will this work? thank you

Yes, the Draw-Tite hitch 36311 will fit your 2003 Subaru Forester and can carry a bike rack. This hitch is a Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch, so make sure the carrier you want to use is built for a 1-1/4 inch hitch.
