How Much Room Do the RockTamers Take Up on a Ball Mount

How thick is the metal at the receiver, my concern is when I use my hitch the gusset nay get in the way

The Rocktamers like the part # RM-4400 that you referenced require 1 inch between the hitch opening and the gusset of the ball mount to fit.
I attached a picture that should help visualize that.
The Rock Tamers bracket that slides over the ball mount is just under an inch in width, which is why at least an inch of clearance is needed between the face of the receiver and the back of the ball mount face.
