Installation of Brophy Stabilizer Clamp
Published 11/13/2015 >
Question:
Can the RSCP be installed upside down, i.e., with the clamp at the bottom of the receiver? I want to use it in conjunction with a j- pin. The j-pin takes care of lateral movement but still allows some vertical play. The app is a boat / trailer Total wt = 1400# Hitch load = 190# Receiver is a DrawTite DT75676. Thanks.

The Brophy Stabilizer Clamp and U-Bolt should not be installed upside down. I spoke with my contact at Brophy and he confirmed that the clamp is not intended to be installed any other way than with the majority of the bracket over the top hitch receiver.
I have attached a photo showing how the bracket should be installed.
