If you have a 2003 to 2007 Subaru Baja, the Curt Trailer Hitch, item # 11280, will fit and should install in basically the same location as an OEM hitch. As far as it being the same hitch that the dealer will install, one cannot be sure. Many dealers save on cost by purchasing aftermarket hitches and installing them rather than installing OEM products. You will need to contact the dealer to see what brand of trailer hitch they will install on your vehicle if you get one from them.
Installation of this hitch is very simple (see instructions link) and can be completed in 30 minutes by one person with a helper just to hold the hitch up for initial placement of the bolts.
Some items you may need to complete your Class I towing setup are listed below.
Hitch Ball 1-7/8 inch, item # 19256
Hitch Ball 2 inch, item # 19258
Wiring, item # C59496
