When Bypassing Factory Transmission Cooler Does it Matter Which Line is Return Line

Updated 09/28/2015 | Published 09/27/2015

Question:

What is the direction of flow for the transmission cooler on a 2003 Chevy Silverado z71 1500 . I have a line at the top of my radiator one at the bottom both on the passenger side yet I had two lines coming from the transmission cooler as well .I am asking because I hit a deer and the cooler was damaged and I would like to bypass it for now as I cant afford a proper fix and dont do any heavy towing.if you have a better idea that is free I am all ears Thanks

Expert Reply:

Direction of flow won't matter if you are planning to bypass your factory cooler with an aftermarket one like the part # D13504 that you referenced.

Coolers like this are not directional so as long as you attach both lines to this cooler it will work well for you.

I attached an install video for this cooler for you to check out as well.
