Question:
Im considering adding a brake controller to my 2007 Toyota RAV4 with factory tow package, reciever, and wiring harness and connector. When I choose this make and model on your site, all the offered controllers specify without factory trailer connectorinch which I DO have. What do you recommend for my situation?

All that you need to complete your installation is a brake controller and an installation kit and a 4-Way wiring harness which you already have. The Tekonsha Prodigy P2, # 90885 is a great unit, and I would highly recommend it. The Electric Brake controller Installation Kit, # ETBC7, contains everything needed to install your controller, including the 7way connector with mounting bracket, wire, connectors, circuit breakers, even the zip ties!
Since all of our manufacturers say that your vehicle did not come factory with trailer wiring or an install harness for the brake controller it is most likely that you have an aftermarket setup currently.
We have detailed instructions for installation of this kit and a video installation for you to review. The video is on a different vehicle but the installation process will be the same.
