Could Worm Gear Winch Be Installed on Floor of Trailer for Securing ATV
Published 09/10/2015 >
Question:
Could I mount this winch to the floor of my ATV trailer and use it to secure the front end of my ATV? Will it lock in place when traveling? I would only be using 12inch of cable. ATV Weight: 500lbs

The Dutton Lainson winch part # DL10950 is a worm gear winch that because of it's design always has a brake applied to it when not in use. If you wanted to mount it to the floor of your trailer and then use it to secure the ATV there's no reason it wouldn't work for you. It has more than enough capacity at 1,500 lbs.
