Rubber Bike Straps are Hard to Stretch
Published 09/05/2015 >
Question:
Do you have any suggestions on how to stretch the holes of the straps that wrap around the frame of the bike? That is one of my main complaints about this model. It is REALLY difficult to insert the plastic button into each of those holes that holds the bike. Maybe they stretch out eventually? But for now, it is an extremely frustrating process!!

A bike rack's rubber straps can be tough to manipulate, but they are made that way for a reason. If the straps were easy to stretch, then they may not last as long or provide a secure hold for your bike. Over time the straps will become more flexible. Also, as long as the strap has a snug grip on the bike, it is not necessary to over-tighten the strap around the bike's frame.
If the bike rack is fairly new, my suggestion for you would be to let the straps warm up by leaving them out in the sun for a while before loading your bikes.
