Is it ok to use a 4.80x12 as a spare on my boat trailer that has 5.30x12 tires?

As a short term solution should you get a flat or blowout you could use a 4.80x12 in place of a 5.30x12. But you will want to get the 5.30x12 fixed or replaced as soon as possible. Having a different size on the trailer can affect capacity, tracking, tire wear, and overall ride quality.
I recommend sticking with the 5.30x12 size as a spare to avoid any possible issues. We have numerous tire and wheel combos in this size which I have linked for you. You will want to match the load range of the tires currently on the trailer to ensure the trailer capacity is not changed.
