Are all of the taillights on your trailer working properly? You may try verifying that all of the taillights are in good working order by running a jumper wire of 12 volts from a vehicle battery to all of the terminals of the trailer connector to verify that everything is working properly.
This may seem like a silly question, but are all of the taillights on your vehicle working properly? If not, the error message would be because of that.
