How to Carry 3 Bikes with a 2013 Toyota Prius V

Question:

I have a 1 1/4 hitch. Is there a wheel mount hitch mount. I am looking to transport three bikes, wife, 7 y/o son and me, safely. Cheers.

Since the vehicle you have that has the 1-1/4 inch hitch on it is a Prius the hitch will be a Class I hitch and that means it can only carry up to 2 bikes. You can still carry your third bike on your roof, but at the hitch you can only carry 2.

The Kuat Sherpa 2.0, part # SH12G, is compatible with Class I hitches so it would be a great option for you. It attaches at only the wheels like you are interested in as well.

For a roof rack you would then want the Rhino Rack part numbers # RRVA126B-2, # RRRLKVA and # DK195 and then for a bike rack the Rhino-Rack MountainTrail Rooftop Bike Carrier # RBC035 would be a great option.
