Question:

I have a 2009 Lincoln Navigator with factory heavy duty hitch option and a 2000 R-Vision Trail-Light B-17 with a 3000lb max rating. Ive been using a standard hitch, but it seems to bounce a good deal which Im assuming is bc its a single axle. Ive had the same problem no matter how I load it front, back, center, and when I towed it with a 2010 Honda Pilot. Im thinking a weight distribution hitch should help, can you recommend one that will work. Please note the trailer is fairly low and I have to use an 8inch drop to get it level! Thank you.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

You will want to have the weight of your trailer loaded in such a way that the tongue weight of the trailer ends up being 10-15 percent of the total weight of the trailer. This will help prevent sway and give the best ride quality.

Once you determine your tongue weight check out the link I attached to see a page that has all of the WD systems we carry. You will want to pick your tongue weight from the filters on the page. You will then need a drop shank like the part # C17124. Going with a trunnion setup will give you the best ground clearance.
