Is it safe to travel with a kayak on the glass roof of a Land Rover using the foam and tie downs?

We never recommend that the weight of any cargo rest on the glass of a vehicle sunroof. Without knowing what year Land Rover you have the best recommendation I can make would be to install a roof rack and then use a kayak carrier like the part # RR571 that you referenced.
