Question:
How high a temp.is the rubber good to.
asked by: Richard
Helpful Expert Reply:
The type and composition of rubber is going to determine its melting point. Rubber grommet # A45GB is a lower grade than tires so it is on the lower end of the scale. Rubber components can start to melt at 160 to 356 degrees Fahrenheit. The grommet, being at the lower end, is likely in the 160 to 200 degree range but its melting point has never been officially tested. The lights this grommet is designed for are not made for high temperature applications which is why it is on the lower end of the scale.
