Will Thule TracRac Fit Under 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Tonneau Cover

Question:

I am looking to put this rack in a 2015 GMC Sierra with a Tonneau cover. Does the top section of this rack come out when installed? If so, would the remaining brackets sit low enough that the tonneau cover will easily be installed covering the truck bed as well as the brackets?

The Thule TracRac # TH14750 bolts on to the inside of your truck bed using included hardware and Thule specifically states it isn't compatible with tonneau covers so you'll either have to ditch the cover or go with another ladder rack or roof rack solution for your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500.

The right ladder rack fitment will depend on what type of tonneau cover you have and how it installs. For example, the TruXedo Elevate ladder rack fits really well with standard folding or roll-up covers that have rails sitting inside your truck bed sides. If this is what you have then you'll need the following Elevate system depending on your truck bed size:

- 5-1/2' Bed # TX96NV
- 6-1/2' Bed # TX46NV
- 8' Bed # TX66NV
