Backspacing of the Americana Steel Trailer Wheel
Published 06/03/2015 >
Question:
My rims are the 8 inch 5 lug 4 1/2 on center, but the inset depth from the topof the rim to the plate is 3 1/2 inches to clear the trailer chassis outside the wheel. What is the inset depth of this rim from lip to plate where bolt holes are located?

On a wheel like the part # AM20028 that has a zero offset it is easy to determine the backspacing. This rim is 7 inches wide so you would need to add 1 inch for the inboard and outboard flanges and then divide by two to determine the backspacing.
So this rim has backspacing of 4 inches.
