I have a 2011 VW Routan SE and I want to know what I need to put a transmission oil cooler in. And what parts.

You certainly can install a transmission cooler on your 2011 Volkswagen Routan. But just so you know ahead of time your vehicle uses the Chrysler 62TE automatic transmission. With these transmissions you have to use the special transmission fluid ATF+4 synthetic type 9602 from Chrysler. If not you will have transmission problems.
Since adding a cooler means the system will have more volume, additional fluid will be needed but you shouldn't need more than a quart (as a rough estimate). I know on some Chrysler vehicles there is no way for the consumer to add fluid. Check under your hood to see if there is an actual transmission fluid dip stick. If there isn't, and where the dipstick would be it is capped off, you would have to have a Chrysler dealer perform the installation because it takes a special tool to open that cap to pour in more fluid.
The most popular cooler for your Routan (of the same year Town and Country which is the same thing) is # D13503. Other than what I mentioned above you would not need anything else.
