Thank you for including a photo of your 2006 BMW X5's roof rack crossbars. All you need to do to check their compatibility with the Yakima SweetRoll Kayak Carrier # Y04074 is measure their dimensions. As long as their width does not exceed 3-1/2-inches and their height 1-11/16-inches then the SweetRoll will install just fine. Also, the two bars' centers must be at least 24-inches apart.
This Yakima carrier will handle a kayak or paddleboard up to 80-lbs. An OC1 outrigger canoe can be as long as 20-feet and often weighs around 30-lbs or less according to my research, which keeps its weight within capacity, but you'll need to use additional tie downs like # EM34409 to secure such a long craft to your X5. You may also want to check your local laws for information on carrying such a long craft on your vehicle.
Its always a good idea to check your vehicle owner's manual for its roof weight capacity before loading any cargo.
