Question:

I have a manual 98 4x4 Dodge Ram 1500 that I would like to outfit with a tow kit to pull behind my RV. Can you please let me know the base plate and any other parts you would recommend?

The base plate kit you would need for your 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 is part # DM9517085.

The compatible tow bar is the Dominator # DM9511008 which is rated up to 7,500 pounds.

For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-155, and not have to worry about cutting and splicing into the vehicle wiring.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system, # RM-9400, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the two vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
