Question:

Hello, I am considering purchasing a 2010 Honda Element EX and would like to know what model base plate I should get for it. I understand the grill/bumper is different on 2009 forward models and could cause installation difficulties. I have a Ready Brute Elite tow bar with surge brake, so I need something that will accommodate this system, any ideas?

The base plate I recommend for your 2010 Honda Element EX is the Blue Ox # BX2232. Our installers tend to prefer Blue Ox for their user-friendly features. Installation on a 2010 Element will require removal/replacement of the bumper fascia, some trimming of the bumper and minor drilling.

You can use your Ready Brute Elite tow bar with these base plates by using the Blue Ox Base Plate Adapter Brackets for Ready Brute Elite Tow Bars, part # BX88297.

If you need safety cables I suggest the Roadmaster coiled set # RM-643 which will not drag on the ground.

For a lighting/wiring solution you can use either a bulb and socket kit # RM-155 or an easy-to-use no-splicing magnetic kit like # TLL21RK. All wiring/lighting options for the Element are shown on the linked provided.
