Question:

I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with all of the forward sensors, I am looking for the best tow bar and base plates for towing behind a Motorhome. Which is best least amount of mod to the car the RM-521446-5 or RM-521446-4 for base plates? Which Tow Bar is best the Falcon 2 RM-520 or Falcon All Terrain RM-522 ? Thanks for your help.

I like the Roadmaster Base Plate kit part # RM-521446-4 for your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk because it will use the crossbar of the tow bar you go with which will provide more support that the other Roadmaster option.

The Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar part # RM-522 would be the nicer tow bar since it has built in freedom latches that will make relieving tension in the arms of the tow bar much easier than the # RM-520 that will require you to use a special tool.

For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.

For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-154, and not have to worry drilling holes in the taillight housings of your vehicle.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system, # RM-9400, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

If your Cherokee has 4 wheel drive or the Active Drive II system, to maintain the vehicle's stable steering while being flat towed you will want to install the Mopar accessory kit 68321424AB, available from your Jeep dealer. This kit will prevent the Cherokee's steering from shaking while being flat towed.
