I highly recommend going with the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 because its one of the most popular and highest rated brake controllers we currently offer. It has a LCD display and it will be very user friendly.

The P3 is a proportional brake controllers, which means it activates according to the type of pressure you are applying to the brake. For example, if you slam on your brakes, your trailer brakes will activate with the same intensity. If you slow down gradually, your trailer will gradually slow down too.

If you don't have an existing 4-way flat connector at the rear of your Buick Roadmaster Sedan, then you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55347. If you have the Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon then use # C55352. The 4-way will provide a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your Buick to power your trailer's signal lights. It plugs into your existing wiring located inside your trunk, behind the tail light on the driver's side. You may need to remove the trunk liner to gain access.

If you don't have an existing 7-way trailer connector at the rear of your Buick you will need the installation kit # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 will include everything you need to install an electric brake controller and 7-way connector. The pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector will mount easily to your Buick.
