Will a Larger Trailer Tire Provide a More Stable Ride Quality

Question:

will a large tent trailer be more stable if I put 185/80 vs 175/80 tires on it. It is the largest tent trailer made. thanks

Going with a larger trailer tire will somewhat increase the stability of the tent trailer. Going from a 175 to a 185 series tire wouldn't be that huge of a difference but a larger diameter tire will ride a bit smoother down the highway than a smaller one.

Since the size difference is so small you shouldn't have a problem with fender clearance either.

If you have a 13 inch wheel you would want the part # AM1ST79 for a 185/80-13 trailer tire.
