Can Air Bags and Rubber Helper Springs Be Installed Together on a 2005 GMC Yukon XL
Updated 03/24/2015 | Published 03/22/2015 >
Question:
Just installed Arnott conversion with Airlift 1000 bags and am very pleased with the result. However, the factory original rear bump stops are shot. Do you have a recommendation?

Expert Reply:
The stock bump stops on your 2005 GMC Yukon XL should be located outside of the coil springs so they would not interfere with the AirLift system you installed. You could add some different rubber springs such as # TGMRYS4 but since you already have the air bags installed you would not need to upgrade the bump stops.
If they are in bad shape you could get some replacements either from a GM dealer or inquire at a local auto parts store. Or if you want bigger ones you could install the Timbren springs # TGMRYS4.
