Question:

I have a Ford Escape 2012 3.0L V6 Engine and the optional equipment Class ll towing package it has the 4 prong trailer connector. I will be towing a 1970 Shasta 14inch 3000lb with elect. brakes in Illinois. What brake controller should I buy and what controller adapter do I need for the wiring? Thanks

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that will sense the amount of braking you are applying to your tow vehicle and will apply the trailer brakes proportionately.

To install it in your 2012 Ford Escape that has a 4-way installed already all you would need is the part # ETBC7. This comes with everything needed to convert the 4-way to a 7-way and install a brake controller.
