From my research I found the 2002 Sunnybrook CKS26 weighs approximately 5,000 lbs and the gross weight is 7,000 lbs. When choosing a weight distribution system there are 2 important things you will want to know. The Gross Trailer weight (GTW) and the Tongue Weight (TW). You also want to make sure you do not exceed the towing capacity of your 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche or your trailer hitch.

The gross towing weight is the weight of your trailer in its fully-loaded ready-to-tow condition. The tongue weight is the tongue weight of the fully-loaded trailer added to the weight of any cargo placed behind the rear axle of the towing vehicle.

When choosing a weight distribution system ideally you want your trailer weight to fall near the middle of the weight distribution system range. Typically, the tongue weight is about 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight.

For your trailer the tongue weight could vary between 700 and 1,000 lbs. The weight distribution system I recommend for that weight range is the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control, part # RP66084. The tongue weight range for this system is from 600 to 1,200 lbs, and this system has a gross towing weight rating of 12,000 lbs. The system includes the weight distributing shank but the trailer ball isn't included. For a 2 inch ball, use part # A-90 or part # 19286 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
