Double Bullseye Trailer Clearance Marker Light # MC42AB on Travel Trailer w/ Lighting Ground Wire
Updated 03/02/2015 | Published 02/28/2015 >
Question:
I recently purchased red and amber clearance lights part number MC42AB. When I removed the existing clearance light on my 1985 Funtime travel trailer I discovered that the clearance lights have two wires coming from inside the skin of the trailer, one hot and one ground. The white ground wire goes to the mounting screw inside the assembly, with an eyelet terminal connector. Would I be able to run the ground wire to behind the clearance light, with a wire connector to the screw as a ground? Or would I have to wire it through the plastic mounting and connect it inside the assembly?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since the Double Bullseye Trailer Clearance Side Marker Light, # MC42AB, grounds through the lighting hardware to the trailer frame, the ground wire from the previous light on your 1985 Funtime Travel Trailer is not needed. This wire could be secured to the back of the lights or just tucked away up under the trailer.
