Question:

I need a roof rack for surfboards but not one with steel bars since corrosion is an issue on the coast. I prefer the wing/aero type.

We can offer you aluminum bar aero roof racks for your 2018 Subaru Forester for both of its possible roof setups, either raised side rails or a bare roof without fixtures. All appear on the linked page where you can click on the roof type you have to then see only the options that work with that specific roof configuration.

Do please note that while the crossbars are all-aluminum there are still some steel components in the foot assemblies because that stronger material is essential in that function.

If you have raised side rails on the roof then my suggestion is the Rhino-Rack Vortex system made of parts # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX100. An install video showing a 2018 Forester is linked for you.

If you have a bare roof on the Forester then the rack I recommend is the Inno Aero system made of parts # INXB100-2, # INXS300 and # INTR145. An install video for this system is included for you too.
