Question:
I have a 2003 gmc sierra slt 1500. It has a 7way round trailer wiring plug on it from the factory. Will I have to run more wires to the fuse box under the hood from the rear plug? Or do I just have to attach the wire in the fuse box to the positive post to supply power to the controller? It appears the the adapter that came with my controller just plugs in under the drivers side dash somewhere? Thank you

To install a brake controller in your 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 you only need to use the correct wiring harness to connect the controller to the truck. Since your truck has a factory 7-way the underhood connections are already made.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. The install harness you would need is the # 3015-P.
I attached an install video for you to check out that shows this brake controller being installed in a very similar GMC Sierra as yours using the # 3015-P harness.
