Question:
I need to know what the tension force that jack part number BD150152 can provide. I have an application on a solar system that this jack might work for. I want the jack to pull two components closer together as well as push them apart. I understand that pushing the components apart the jack can provide 2000# of force but can it do the 2000# pulling them together? Thanks

I spoke to my contact at Bulldog and he informed me that their jacks like the # BD150152 that you referenced are designed for pushing force down and are not designed for tension as he said, meaning they can't lift or pull two thing together. He said that usually in the spring they get several people who have the foot plate of their jack frozen in the ground who end up ripping the inner tube assembly out of the jack from trying to force the foot of the ground.
Without knowing more about your setup the best recommendation I can give for bringing two things together would be a split reel winch like the # DL10952 and then for cable part # DL24100.
