Using Roadmaster High-Low Adapter as Winch Mount

Question:

I am looking at this product,RM-048-6, and was wondering if this would be strong enough for winching purposes? The vehicle that it would be on should only be around 4000 lbs. Thank you

My contact at Roadmaster said the High-Low Hitch Adapter # RM-048-6, which you reference, can be used on hitch accessories, as long as its 400 lb tongue weight and 10,000 lb towing capacity isn't exceeded. This means that no more than 400 lbs of downward force can be applied to the adapter.

Because the line pull of a winch isn't always applied straight-on to the receiver, I wouldn't recommend using the adapter for a winch mount.
