Question:
I made the wrong choice of getting a Forester hitch and I can not use it with my Thule bike rack. I want to get a Curt hitch to replace it but want to know some measurements before ordering it. 1 on the C12100 hitch measured from the opening of the receiver, how far back is the securing pin/screw hole? 2 How deep is the receiving hole measured from the opening of the receiver? I want to make certain my existing Thule hitch can be used. 3 when mounted on a 2015 Forester, how far recessed is the opening of the receiver from the outside of the rear bumper? again, I want to make certain the yoke on my Thule bike rack is long enough to clear the Forester rear bumper.

I went to our warehouse to get the Curt trailer hitch # C12100 to provide you a couple key measurements you requested.
1. From the opening on the hitch receiver and back to the hitch pin hole is 2-inches.
2. The receiver opening will be 8-inches deep.
3. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 6-inches. And from the face of the receiver back to clear the rear bumper will be 4 inches.
See the diagram to the right.
I also included an installation video for you.
