Question:
Could you tell me where to find the brake pedal wire on a 1998 chevy 1 ton truck. Can not find wire to tie in with the red line. Thanks

Usually, on Chevy and GMC vehicles like your 1998 Chevy Pickup, the brake wire that carries the signal is white. Occasionally it will be yellow. What you need to do to be sure is to use a circuit tester like the circuit tester, # PTW2993. Using a circuit tester, find the wire that has a signal only when the brake pedal is pressed. That will be the one you want. I have included a video showing brake controller installation on a similar vehicle and an FAQ on brake controller wiring. In the FAQ, look at step 6 under Wiring the 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller, for information on finding the correct wire.
