This is going to help you to tighten everything down and make sure that it gets torqued to the three Newton-meters that they suggest to make sure that everything is nice and safe. So this is going to click whenever you get to the right torque to make sure that you don't over-tighten and that you'd get it tight enough so it's going to give you that sweet spot there.It's pretty easy to use. Just going to have those three little knobs. Of course, these again are replacement parts, it's going to be the exact same thing that should've come with your kit to make sure that everything is tightened down. I've ordered a number of items from Etrailer over the years and have always been pleased with everything. For this item (3Nm Torque Tool for Thule ProBar), the tool was exactly as shown on the Etrailer website -- which website, btw, is very well done compared to many big corp websites you run across. The tool is identical to my Thule OEM torque tool, as far as I can tell. I still have the OEM one, but wanted an extra to keep one in garage and also one in glove box. You never know if you will need to torque down the Thule rack/cargo box when leaving the campsite to go on the long trip home. This is the type of item that, if I have only the one in garage, and take it on trip, I will eventually lose it or misplace it, screwing up an (increasing expensive) vacation.
Great rack! I thought a little outside of the box… I didn’t want a permanent rack on my new truck but needed a way to occasionally transport 24-30’ aluminum for work. The Thule rack worked perfect in conjunction with a bed extender. I’m very happy with the way it all worked out.
