Hey, everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at Thule's replacement cap screw for the Thule Apex, Helium, or EasyFold bike carriers. So, this little screw's gonna allow us to actually get our two-inch sleeve adapters here onto the stinger of our Thule carrier. So really straightforward. We do have an M5 inset here and a 15 millimeter shank for ourselves for our screw, for our length I should say.
And then, as you can see, all I gotta do, walk it right up. It is gonna be helpful to have an M5's hex wrench. Now, you don't have one at home, there is gonna be some available here at etrailer.com to assist you in utilizing this, but really straightforward. All I have to do, insert it just like so, and as you're seeing, walk it right into my adapter. Getting my adapter put here onto my shank.
So, if you guys are, for some reason, maybe having a damaged bolt or you can't quite find yours, this is an excellent way of actually allowing you to get your adapter put on your various bike carriers. So, again, I think the biggest issue for a lot of people is gonna having the tool. Hopefully, you have it somewhere in a toolbox at home, but otherwise we got you covered. But yeah, I think that about does it. I mean, the biggest serious thing people are gonna have is making sure that's the actually right fit for you.
Again, hopefully those dimensions are gonna make sure that you have the right screw for yourself. And again, it's gonna be for the Apex, the Helium, and the EasyFold carriers out there. Products were as advertised. But I paid for expedited shipping only to have them arrive about 5 days after the predicted date. Would have been nice to know since I was planning on using them for a trip and ended up not being able to because of the delay.
Exactly what we needed for an older bike rack we just bought.
I will return the item because i found the original that i had lost. The item has not been delivered yet to my home - the tracking map whowed that it was in a Vancouver facility on Monday, just passed the customs. So why did you assume that it was delivered?
At most this should cost $2. You can get stainless countersink m8/30 for that for one piece and then dripping below a buck for qty.

Solved my Thule bike rack/trailer hitch dilemma immediately! 5-minute installation and saved a couple hundred bucks by doing it myself. Well-designed and detailed shipping tracking system that really kept me up to date on delivery time, and arrived 1-day early too. Could not be happier! You will need (2) of these screws (sold separately) to make the adapter work.

The wiring harness works perfectly and the installation video was very helpful as are all of the etrailer video’s I have viewed. I retired from a HD truck manufacturer after a rewarding 39 year career. My job involved providing part requirements for 150 custom trucks per day. All hardware and components were well described on site, all arrived and all fit as intended. Could have tried to save money by pulling from other internet sites and taken chances on whether parts would work, but ultimately it was easier to find everything here in one place and know that they'd be
correct, which was an added value.
Wasn’t the correct fit. I have a three bike carrier .. I also bought the adapter that goes on the stinger and wasn’t flush when I used the cap screw.. seems like it is too long. And was looking at Item # 853-5787-02 which is shorter

This cap screw fits Thule Apex Bike Carriers TH9025, TH9026 and TH9027. Item # 853-5787-02 is a universal Thule bolt that fits Thule hitch-mounted bike carriers with 2 shank adapter sleeves.

Perfect replacement for missing Thule b olts
I bought my bike rack five years ago. When we changed cars, a new larger tow was put on. The Thule bike rack rattled in the larger tow, even with a generic adapter. The new adapter to the rack works great! No more rattles with the rack. My only suggestion would be to make a kit available with the adapter, screws, and wrench available to make ordering easier. The Thule locks and phone holder for the bike are really nice but I wish Thule would include some written instructions. I still have one piece for the phone holder that I have no idea where it goes! Overall, though, everything was very good.

Exact part to attach the 2" hitch adapter to my Thule rack. Perfect!
Arrived quickly. Packaged well. I would offer these in stainless steel to avoid rust as they install onto the bike rack which is exposed to the elements.
all products work exactly as described. it's kind of hard to get overly excited over parts for bicycle rack, but whoopy. nuff said g schmidt
Doesn’t fit the Thule Helium 970XT.
Wound up going to the local hardware store and getting a bolt that actually fits.

The delivery was exemplary, but to charge $X+ for one bolt is ridiculous. Not etrailier's fault but Thule nickel-and-diming - these should have been includeded with the plate adapter but inexplicably were not.

Without doubt Thule is the best bike hauler ever made. We use it often, wouldnt trade it for another. And the process to access adapter parts was superb.
